So here’s a fairly balanced look at different technology sites’ reactions to the iPad:
John Gruber at Daring Fireball.
A post which focuses on the importance of Apple’s own A4 processor. Gruber has had a hands on with the device and seems to be pretty impressed by it.
Wilson addresses the potential markets of the iPad, and generally how he thinks Apple has a winner on their hands here. I agree pretty much whole-heartily with this reaction.
Come see the entire Engadget Staff pan the iPad. None of them really care for it much at all.
More of a mixed bag, and in my opinion a better set of opinions, from the staff at Ars Technica. Jon Stokes (first page) touches on something that I have been thinking about since I wrote my piece yesterday “It’ll probably also be the first time that I ‘jailbreak’ a device.” Bingo. It would seem to me that there is much less risk in jailbreaking this device then doing so for an iPhone. Run all of the applications at once that you want. The processor can handle it.
(I promise I’ll only have a few more posts related to this topic this week)
